These workshops are offered directly by the SBDC Export Readiness Centers or in cooperation with other partner organizations that support export activities in our State.  Much of this training is designed to assist new-to-export companies that are exploring the opportunity to expand their business to markets outside of the US or companies that are already doing some exporting and are looking to expand to new markets.

Oregon SBDC Biz Center - "Before You Go Global"  Nine Comprehensive Modules

The SBDC at Portland Community College developed a 9-module export focused distance learning program to help small business lean about global trade and expanding into the global marketplace.  The program combines independence for the learner who prefers cloud based instruction, with access to an nternational trade business advisor.  This course is a must for small business owners before they go global, saving time, energy and money.

U.S. Government agencies organize and support a broad range of events for U.S. businesses interested in selling their products and services overseas.

Trade events include webinars and seminars on the fundamentals of exporting; counseling and other support at U.S. and international trade shows, recruitment of foreign buyer delegations to U.S. trade shows, and trade missions of U.S. delegates to foreign markets for one-on-one meetings with potential customers and partners.

The "Exporting" module series has been produced in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service. These modules were developed from the 2008 edition of A Basic Guide to Exporting and each module represents one of the book's seventeen chapters; the modules are listed by chapter in chronological order. This series provides aspiring and seasoned exporters with a wealth of resources and tools that may benefit even the most experienced international business connoisseur.

Centre for Intercultural Leaning

Established in 1969 by the Canadian International Development Agency, the Centre became part of the Canadian Foreign Service Institute of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, in 1996. Both the Institute and the Centre are internationally recognized in the area of training and human resources. The Centre is Canada's largest provider of intercultural and international training services for internationally-assigned government and private sector personnel.

The Centre works with government departments and agencies, NGOs, as well as private sector enterprises with international involvement.
